This is such a basic concept and known by us, yet, as humans we so often live our lives from a place of “do as I say”, especially to our children. The biggest influence you can have in the life of another is through what you do and how you live your life, not by what you say.
How authentic you are?
How real you are?
How genuine you are?
How sincere you are?
How unconditionally loving you are?
How accepting you are?
How inclusive you are?
How caring you are?
These are the things that matter. Words are easy to speak. Actions take more effort and are more meaningful.
It seems to be that we are hardwired, as humans, to be critical and judgmental about the lives of others, yet we are often not aware of our own blindsides and how we live our lives. It is easier for us to excuse things in our lives that we may criticise in others. Why do we feel it is our place to point out things that others are not doing, and often it is the “less than” things in their lives that we don’t hold back on pointing out?
How often do you offer a compliment?
How often do you tell someone you appreciate them?
How often do you tell someone that you are grateful for them?
It seems to be a natural human default to criticise and judge.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. All that is needed is for you to stay in your lane, to keep focused on your life and to be more interested in your life instead of the lives of others. When you focus intentionally on yourself, you can get honest with yourself and you will be able to identity what areas need some work, what areas need things to be done differently, what areas need growth and what areas need help. Working on yourself is one of the most fulfilling and important projects you will ever work on.
When what you do, what you say and what you think are all in alignment that is when you will be living your authentic life.
The only person you have control over is yourself. Isn’t it time that you give yourself the time and attention that you are so deserving of? If you are ready to walk a self-discovery journey of getting to know who you truly are and to live a life where your actions are in alignment with your words and your thoughts, I would love to have a chat.
